I just put the little one to his morning nap. We woke up early as usual, I cooked Chinese at 7 AM for my husband as he has a 24hr work shift today, we had breakfast together then Daniel and I went to our usual morning walk.
The weather is so beautiful and warm lately , it forces us to go our for a walk every few hours. We now spend more time on the garden, or at the balcony or in the shower playing with water.
June has been both so relaxing yet so exhausting at the same time. Let me start with the good part of it.
What happened in June
We went on our first long vacation/roadtrip with baby Daniel. It was everything we asked for. This getaway was so much needed for the three of us after almost three month of being in lockdown. There was the sun, near the sea waves and many fields of greens and yellow, good music and lots of coffee in the road.
it was very heartwarming watching my baby boy discovers new things, like screaming at windmills whenever we passed one on our way, is laughs at the way water splashes when he touches the swimming pool. Watching him tasting new food, sitting in his car seat and petting stray cats and dogs all for the first time, it was just priceless.
Before we leave , I finished writing two tutorials, but while editing one of them (A seascape using watercolors) I found out that the footage was way too dark and the final result doesn’t match the painting which was such a bummer because the painting turned out so nice and I was extremely excited to write about it. However, I did another tutorial instead of that one once we got back.
I also filmed and published three videos during June, which is so unusual but it seems that I really really missed filming and editing and creating videos all together.
It was the first father day’s for my husband this June, I painted a little gift of my boys for him for being the most amazing, supportive and caring father and partner this past year.
So the first half of the month was all going great and I felt so productive for almost finishing everything I had to get done. But for the past week, suddenly my baby boy decided to drop his afternoon nap, he now refuses to take one no matter what we do, nothing is working. So he bcomes so cranky at around five PM because obviously he is tired, but he just won’t go down even for a short nap, it is really hard and exhausting especially In the days my husband is at work. I am not sure wether is is a teething thing, a grown spurt, some kind of sleep regression or all together haha! But it is not fun, not for him, and surely not for me.
My mindset now is, with babies, everything is a ohase, and what is working now may not work the next day, everything will change and a new routine will set itself for us shortly. Just take every day, every hour as is.
Out of curiosity, If there is any mama here that is reading this, how many times does a one year old need to nap a day, any thoughts on the topic?
On top of all that, we’ve been doing spring cleaning and decluttering the whole house, we started with my home studio and my husband’s office and back balcony, three more rooms left to go. Even though it needed so much time and energy to get done, but the result is so satisfying. Everything is much cleaner and neater in y studio . I have gone from a hoarder to a minimalist overnight!

Considering the fact that I wasn’t spending much time in my studio to work with consistency I only could finish two larger painting, these are mixed media done on 50×70 paper.
