I am Rim Abbadi, an artist, mother of two, and an art teacher born in ’91, raised in Jordan, and currently based in Istanbul. I started my art career as an art teacher back in 2014, teaching and holding private workshops and classes in schools and universities in Amman, Jordan. After moving to Istanbul, Turkey, in 2018, I continued along the same path while studying and exploring different art techniques in various studios and at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul. My work is known for its impressionistic painting style, which lacks realistic details and focuses on vibrant colors.

I have participated in multiple group exhibitions in Jordan in 2014 and in Dubai in 2016 and 2018.

In 2021, I published my art book called “Simple Painting,” in which I take you step by step through the beautiful process of painting and creating artwork using simple techniques and a limited color palette in both acrylics and watercolors.

In May 2022, I opened my own studio, “Euphoria Art Gallery,” located in the Kadikoy district of Istanbul, where I showcase the latest artworks and hold weekly painting classes and workshops.

Concerning the tools I use, I work with a variety of mediums, including watercolors, acrylics, and oil pastels. I also enjoy keeping a sketchbook with me everywhere I go for instant journaling and sketching.

My work is greatly connected to my writings and often reflects the details around me. I am very influenced by nature and feelings.

“I find inspiration in the way sunlight spreads its rays to brighten up the world every morning. I’m inspired by the sound of trees swaying in the wind, shadows of moving clouds, raindrops on window shields, and the beautiful blurry views behind them. I am inspired by bookstores and empty notebooks and stories told by random strangers. I am inspired by long walks with my husband and moved by the support of my family. I am inspired by motherhood and everything I see through the eyes of my son. In other words, I get inspired quickly and deeply.” – Rim Abbadi
